Hood & Strong LLP employees volunteered to restore and preserve natural areas of the historic San Francisco Presidio, as directed by the National Park Service, Presidio Trust and Parks Conservancy. Our group made an important contribution to the Presidio restoration effort by pulling out invasive plants. Weeds tend to take over an area, reducing the overall diversity of plant life and threatening rare native species. Removing invasive weeds recreates a healthy ecosystem where native plants can flourish and habitat value is improved for local wildlife. During the project, we learned about Presidio natural history and native flora and fauna as we contributed to the restoration of this site. The three hours of work our group did, were equal to 40 hours of work for one employee.
